Customize the Planning Center
Personalize your Planning Center branding with custom questions, a welcome video, and branch logos.

Admin settings
To personalize Planning Center, go to Settings > Planning Center > Branding.
Questions and videos can be customized by organization or branch. The Planning Center shows the organization logo by default unless otherwise specified on this page.
Preference questions
Use Preference questions to help families share about their loved one and craft a meaningful service together.
Under Organization Questions, you'll see default questions in two sections: Life and Service.
Use the Case type dropdown to view Planning Center questions for that case type.
You can customize questions for At-need, Pre-need (myself), and Pre-need (someone else).
Imminent-need cases will use the Pre-need (myself) and Pre-need (someone else) questions.
Customize sections
Default sections are Life and Service.
To add a new section, click Add > Section or edit an existing one by clicking its ellipsis menu > Edit.
Change case type (if needed), type in a section name, and save.
To reorder sections, click the ellipsis > Move up/down.
To remove a section, click the ellipsis > Delete, then confirm delete.
Customize questions
Select a question to edit, or click Add > Question to create a new one.
When adding a question, first select its case type, section, and question type.
- Case type options include At-need, Pre-need (myself), and Pre-need (someone else)
- Section dropdown includes Life and Service, as well as any custom sections
- Question type refers to format, such as open response, multi-select, or single-select
Next, type out the Question and select tags where case information should populate.
Tags will appear in blue, bracketed text. Remember to use these for pronouns as well!
To remove a question, select that question and click Delete.
To rearrange questions, use the arrow to drag and drop them into the correct spot.
You can also customize questions per branch!
What families see
Questions will appear in the Planning Center, under the Preferences tab, split into tabbed sections.
If questions were answered while this case was a Pre-need, these answers will be locked and in the
Pre-need tab.
Release note
What will happen to my custom questions?
We will release updated Preference questions on August 19, 2025.
If your organization customized questions before the release, they will be available in the Other tab.
Previously customized questions will be preserved here and editable in the backend!
Welcome video
Add a personal touch by uploading a custom welcome video to Planning Center.
To do this, go to Organization video section and select Custom.
Then, copy and paste the new welcome video URL into the field(s).
- Adding a URL to the Welcome field will display one on all case types
- Adding a URL to Pre-need/At-need fields will only show the video to the associated case type.
Branch branding
Edit preferences by location in the Branch branding section. Simply select the branch you'd like to customize.
Turn on the toggle for the section you would like to customize.
Toggles that remain off will use the organization's defaults.
If you are editing questions, Passare will copy over the organization defaults for easy edits.
Make updates to the section and save.
To reset branch questions back to the organization defaults, click the reset link at the bottom-right.
