Frequently asked questions:
How long does a sync take?
A sync to GA EDRS is typically completed within a few seconds after clicking the Sync button, provided all required fields are filled out and there are no errors. You’ll see a green confirmation message (“Successfully synced a case to GA EDRS”) at the bottom of your screen when the sync is complete. The sync status icon will also update to reflect the latest state.
Can I edit a case after syncing?
Yes, you can continue updating and resyncing a case as needed after the initial sync—unless the case has been locked in the GA EDRS system. If the case is locked in GAVERS, further changes may not be possible from Passare. Always check the status in the GA EDRS system if you’re unsure.
What happens if information changes after submission?
If you need to update information after a case has been synced, simply make the changes in Passare and click the Sync button again. The updated data will be pushed to GA EDRS, as long as the case is not locked in the state system. If the case is locked, you may need to make changes directly in GAVERS or contact the Georgia Department of Health for assistance.
