QuickBooks "Customer Name” Options
Funeral home administrators can choose to define the “Name” output for Exports (which automatically becomes the Customer Name in QuickBooks) on the “Accounting” page of the Admin module.
Things to Remember:
- Changing an Organization’s QuickBooks export to take advantage of this option will impact already-exported cases only when there are changes to the contract after the new Customer Name option is put in place
- The new "Name Field" will create a new customer in QuickBooks
For Example, lets say that the contract for John Smith’s case is signed on August 15, 2016. It is exported to QuickBooks on August 31st with the case number in the “Name” field: 16-0001
QuickBooks creates customer 16-0001
On September 1st, the funeral home admin decides to change how Customer Names are configured in Passare, and on September 2nd, the family comes back and makes changes to the contract. On September 31st, invoices are once again exported to QuickBooks. This case now exports as John Smith-16-0001
