How families use Arrangement Guide

See the family's experience when using your funeral home's Arrangement Guide.

When a family clicks your custom Arrangement Guide link on your website, they will be asked, "Are you a new or returning planner?"

  • First-time planners will click I'm new
  • Returning planners can click I'm returning and sign in with their credentials

The family is then guided through these sections:

  • Select - Ask the family questions to help them select the plan that best suits them.
  • Customize - Help the family customize the plan and add merchandise.
  • Document - Families can document additional information about the decedent.
  • Review - A place to review of all contract selections before paying, signing, and finalizing.
  • Sign & Pay - Families can provide signatures and payment before finalizing.
  • Finish - The last step directs the family to Planning Center for at-need planning.

Check out each of these sections in detail 👇

Select

First, families are asked when your services are needed. This will dictate whether an At-need or Imminent Need case is created in Passare. They can choose:

  • Immediately. A death has occurred.
  • In a few days or weeks.

If you have pre-need Arrangement Guide with Funeral Directors Life, you can ask your implementation manager to connect it! Families will be given a 3rd options above that says "No specific time. Planning ahead." and will route them accordingly.

Then, they will indicate who they are planning for.

Next, they will enter their own information.

Now the family will be asked a few questions so Arrangement Guide can recommend a plan.

Has our funeral home been notified?
This ensures the decedent is being moved to your care. If the family selects No, they will receive instructions to call the funeral home.

If the family needs more information, each page has a tooltip with additional insights.

Who would you like at the funeral service?
This determines if the family is interested in a public or private service.

Would ___ prefer to be buried or cremated?

This question will only show if you have multiple disposition types set up.

Would you like a time for family to view the body before burial/cremation?
Determines if a viewing/visitation will be included.

Who would you like at the visitation?
Here, the family indicates if they would like private or public visitation.

If Arrangement Guide determines the family would be better suited at one of your other branches, they will be asked to select another location.

Based on these answers, Arrangement Guide generates a recommended plan/package as well as other good options to consider.

The family can select View details on any package to see more information.

Once a package is selected, the family will create a Planning Center account.

As soon as the Planning Center account is created, you'll receive a notification letting you know that a case was created in Passare.

Once the Planning Center account is created, the family can leave Arrangement Guide and log back in later to pick up where they left off.

Customize

This section gives a service overview with the option to select merchandise and add-ons.

To do this, the family can click Start next to each category to browse and select items to add.

Document

In the next section, families will document additional information about the decedent.

This section only shows if you've chosen to include "Death Certificate fields." Typically, your implementation manager will enable this by default unless you specify otherwise.

First, they will click Start next to Document.

On the first page, the family can provide their address information.

Next, they can add the decedent's gender, marital status, SSN, race, and ethnicity.

The family will then be asked about birth information, the last place lived, and employment.

If Yes is selected for "Was ___ a Veteran?" the family will have the opportunity to provide additional veteran information.

If Yes is selected for "Did ___ have children?" Arrangement Guide will ask for more information.

Next, the family will add the decedent's parent information.

The family will then be asked where the loss occured.

Review

Almost there! At this step, families can review all of their selections and information entered so far.
