Keep up with all your Passare activity using notifications.
What's new in notifications?
We have updated the look and feel of notifications! Click the links below to see the latest changes.
Updates include:
- Notification feeds
- Notification preferences modal
- In-app alerts (formerly "bubble alerts")
- Email notifications
View notifications in Passare
To view notifications, click the bell icon in your navigation bar.
Select the notification to view the activity or click Dismiss to clear it from this feed.
To view all notifications from the past 30 days, click All notifications.
You can also add the notification feed as a dashboard widget.

Update your profile
Before turning on notifications, it's good practice to update or verify your contact information.
To do this, click your picture in the top-right and select Profile.
All email notifications go to your correspondence email address. By default, this is your login email, but you can change it to receive notifications at another email address.
To change it, uncheck the Same as login email address box and edit the correspondence email field.
Do not update the first email address field - this will change your login email!
If you'd like to receive text notifications, make sure your mobile phone number is added.
Mobile numbers will not be made public but will only be used to receive text alerts.
When everything is updated, remember to save!
Notification preferences
Next, configure your notification preferences.
At the top of your screen, select the bell icon and click the gear icon.
Use the toggles to turn on/off notifications for your account. Continue reading to learn more about each type of notification.
What activity can I be notified about?
You can receive notifications based on the following activity.
Cases
- eSignatures - when a family electronically signs a document in Planning Center
- Events - when an event reminder is triggered or when the event occurs
- Inventory - when inventory is low
- Mentions - when another Passare user mentions you in a note or comment
- Reports - when your report is ready for download
- Tasks - when a task is assigned to you, or your task is edited/deleted/completed
- Unassigned cases - when a family has initiated a case using your self-started link
If another user deletes your shared dashboard, you will be notified by email.
Planning Center
- Activity - when the family fills out a loved one's information (basics, obituary, etc.)
- Merchandise - when a family pins merchandise
- Messages - when the family sends you a message
- Payments - when a family makes a payment
How can I be notified?
You can be notified via In-app, Text, or Email alerts.
In-app alerts will stack at the bottom corner of your screen. They fade within a few seconds, but you can hover your cursor over it to "freeze" the notification.
On the other hand, reminders collect in a single in-app alert and must be manually dismissed.
Release note: Newly created reminders will show the new design; any existing reminders will use the old design for the time being.
Text alerts will be sent directly to the mobile number added to your profile.
Email notifications will be sent to the correspondence email in your profile.
Once you've selected your preferences, click Save.
Commonly asked questions
Q: Is there a charge to receive text alerts?
A: Text alerts are free with your Passare subscription, although normal text rates from your carrier do apply. See your mobile contract for information on your rates.
Q: Does entering my mobile number in My Profile automatically sign me up to receive text alerts?
A: No, Passare will only start sending you texts once you tell it to. You'll need to toggle on the notifications you'd like to receive.
